Copycat Chick-fil-A Nuggets
Ingredients
- 12 pound boneless skinless chicken breast(907g)
- 22 cup milk or buttermilk(480g)
- 31 large egg(50g)
- 42 teaspoon salt(12g)
- 51 teaspoon MSG (monosodium glutamate)(4g)
- 64 cup peanut oil (for frying)(880g)
- 71.5 cup all-purpose flour(180g)
- 82 tablespoon powdered sugar(16g)
- 92 teaspoon paprika(4g)
- 101 teaspoon salt(6g)
- 111 teaspoon black pepper(2g)
- 120.5 teaspoon baking soda(2g)
- 131 teaspoon MSG (monosodium glutamate)(4g)
Instructions
- 1Cut the chicken breast into nugget-sized pieces and place in a mixing bowl.
- 2Add milk or buttermilk, egg, 2 teaspoons salt, and 1 teaspoon MSG to the bowl. Mix well to combine.
- 3Cover the bowl and marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.
- 4Heat peanut oil in a deep pot to 350°F (175°C).
- 5In a separate bowl, combine flour, powdered sugar, paprika, 1 teaspoon salt, black pepper, baking soda, and 1 teaspoon MSG. Stir to mix.
- 6Working in batches, dredge the marinated chicken pieces in the flour mixture, coating well.
- 7Fry the coated chicken pieces in the hot oil until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
- 8Transfer cooked nuggets to a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
- 9Serve hot with Chick-fil-A sauce.
