Slow-Cooker Caramelized Cabbage & Noodles
Ingredients
- 11 head green cabbage(800g)
- 21 large yellow onion(200g)
- 312 oz wide egg noodles(340g)
- 40.5 cup unsalted butter(113g)
- 50.5 cup low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth(120g)
- 61 teaspoon garlic powder(3g)
- 71 teaspoon dried thyme or Italian seasoning(1g)
- 81 teaspoon salt(6g)
- 91 teaspoon black pepper(2g)
- 100.25 cup fresh parsley(15g)
Instructions
- 1Place the shredded cabbage and sliced onions directly into your slow cooker.
- 2Sprinkle over the garlic powder, thyme or Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper.
- 3Pour in the broth, then dot the top with slices of butter.
- 4Cover and cook on LOW for 4–5 hours or HIGH for 2–3 hours, until the cabbage and onions are deeply tender and caramelized.
- 5About 15 minutes before serving, cook the egg noodles in salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain well.
- 6Add the hot noodles straight into the slow cooker and toss everything together until fully coated in the buttery sauce.
- 7Garnish with fresh parsley and extra cracked black pepper before serving.
