  • 31 teaspoon Oil(4g)

  • 71 teaspoon Garlic powder(3g)

Instructions

  1. 1Slice the chicken breasts in half and then into finger-sized pieces.
  2. 2Place chicken pieces in a bag or bowl.
  3. 3Add egg white, oil, and cornstarch to the chicken. Mix and massage well. Set aside.
  4. 4In a separate bowl, combine self-rising flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, salt, white pepper, egg, and water. Mix thoroughly to form a batter.
  5. 5Add the marinated chicken pieces to the batter and coat evenly.
  6. 6Heat oil in a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C). Fry battered chicken pieces until golden and crispy, about 3-5 minutes. Remove and drain.
  7. 7For the sauce, combine sugar, cornstarch, water, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar in a saucepan. Mix well to remove lumps.
  8. 8Add red food coloring if desired for color.
  9. 9Cook the sauce over medium heat, stirring, until the sugar dissolves and the sauce thickens and bubbles.
  10. 10Pour the sauce over the fried chicken and serve.
