Ingredients

  • 11 lb ground beef(454g)
  • 25 garlic cloves(15g)
  • 32 serrano peppers(20g)
  • 41 handful thai basil(15g)
  • 51 tablespoon soy sauce(15g)
  • 61 tablespoon water(15g)
  • 71 tablespoon fish sauce(18g)
  • 81 tablespoon oyster sauce(18g)
  • 90.5 tablespoon sugar(6g)
  • 101 cup jasmine rice(185g)
  • 111 cup water(240g)
  • 121 egg(50g)

Instructions

  1. 1In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, 1 tablespoon water, fish sauce, oyster sauce, and sugar to make the sauce.
  2. 2Mince the garlic cloves and slice the serrano peppers.
  3. 3Heat a pan over medium-high heat. Add a little oil, then add the minced garlic and sliced peppers. Sauté until fragrant.
  4. 4Add the ground beef to the pan. Flatten it out and let it brown, then break it up into small pieces as it cooks.
  5. 5Pour the prepared sauce over the beef. Stir and cook until the sauce thickens and coats the meat.
  6. 6Add the Thai basil and stir until wilted. Remove from heat.
  7. 7Meanwhile, rinse the jasmine rice and cook it with 1 cup water according to package instructions or in a rice cooker.
  8. 8Fry the egg in a separate pan until the edges are crispy and the yolk is still runny.
