Chicken Adobo with Greens
Ingredients
- 12 tablespoon canola oil(28g)
- 26 clove garlic(18g)
- 31 piece onion(100g)
- 41 kilogram chicken(1000g)
- 52 tablespoon vinegar(30g)
- 60.25 cup soy sauce(60g)
- 71 cup water(240g)
- 82 piece bay leaf(1g)
- 91 teaspoon whole black peppercorns(2g)
- 102 piece chicken bouillon cube(20g)
- 111 teaspoon brown sugar(4g)
- 121 cup kale or spinach (optional)(30g)
Instructions
- 1Heat canola oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- 2Add crushed garlic and sliced onion. Sauté until fragrant and onions are translucent.
- 3Add chicken pieces and cook until lightly browned on all sides.
- 4Pour in vinegar, soy sauce, and water. Stir to combine.
- 5Add bay leaves, slightly crushed black peppercorns, chicken bouillon cubes, and brown sugar.
- 6Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low. Cover and simmer for 30-40 minutes, or until chicken is tender.
- 7If using, add kale or spinach during the last 5 minutes of cooking and stir until wilted.
- 8Remove bay leaves. Serve hot with steamed rice.
