Wash the baby potatoes and place them in a large bowl.
Drizzle potatoes with 1 tablespoon olive oil. Season generously with 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 0.5 teaspoon salt, and 0.5 teaspoon black pepper. Toss to coat.
Layer the seasoned potatoes in the bottom of the crock pot.
In the same bowl, add stew meat. Drizzle with 2 tablespoons olive oil. Season with 1 teaspoon onion powder, 1 teaspoon garlic powder, 2 teaspoons steak seasoning, 1 teaspoon salt, 0.5 teaspoon black pepper, and the minced garlic cloves. Toss to coat well.
Spread the seasoned meat evenly over the potatoes in the crock pot.
Slice the stick of butter into about 12 pieces and layer them over the top of the meat.
Cover and cook on high for 5 to 5.5 hours or on low for 7 hours, until the meat is tender and potatoes are cooked through.
Stir gently before serving. Serve hot, optionally with extra butter or juices spooned over the top.
