Homemade Doner-Style Meat (Viral Recipe)
Ingredients
- 12 lb lean ground beef(907g)
- 21 white onion(150g)
- 34 garlic cloves(12g)
- 41 tablespoon cumin(6g)
- 51 tablespoon coriander(6g)
- 61 tablespoon paprika(7g)
- 71 tablespoon oregano(3g)
- 81 tablespoon salt(18g)
- 90.5 tablespoon black pepper(3g)
- 101 tablespoon garlic powder(9g)
Instructions
- 1Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
- 2Add the chopped onion and garlic cloves to a blender. Blend until completely liquefied.
- 3In a large bowl, add the ground beef. Pour in the onion-garlic mixture.
- 4Add cumin, coriander, paprika, oregano, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- 5Mix thoroughly until fully combined.
- 6Divide the mixture in half. Place one half onto a large sheet of parchment paper. Top with another sheet of parchment paper and roll it out evenly.
- 7Remove the top layer of parchment. Roll the meat (with the parchment) into a tight log. Place on a baking tray. Repeat with the second half.
- 8Bake at 400°F (200°C) for 20 minutes.
- 9Remove from oven and drain excess grease.
- 10Unroll the meat logs and break into smaller chunks. Spread evenly on the baking tray.
- 11Broil for a few minutes until crispy and slightly charred.
- 12Serve in pita with tzatziki, over rice bowls, on a salad, or as desired.
