Instructions
- 1In a bowl, mix the milk, yeast, and sugar. Add the egg and mix again.
- 2Add the flour, salt, and butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- 3Cover the dough and let it rise for 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
- 4On a floured surface, gently flatten the dough (not too thin), then shape it into a loaf by folding the sides and rolling it.
- 5Place the loaf on an oven tray, cover with floured plastic wrap, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
- 6Score the bread and brush with water.
- 7Bake at 420°F (215°C) for 10 minutes, then reduce to 380°F (193°C) and continue baking until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
