Ingredients

Instructions

  1. 1In a bowl, mix the milk, yeast, and sugar. Add the egg and mix again.
  2. 2Add the flour, salt, and butter. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  3. 3Cover the dough and let it rise for 1.5 hours or until doubled in size.
  4. 4On a floured surface, gently flatten the dough (not too thin), then shape it into a loaf by folding the sides and rolling it.
  5. 5Place the loaf on an oven tray, cover with floured plastic wrap, and let it rest for 15 minutes.
  6. 6Score the bread and brush with water.
  7. 7Bake at 420°F (215°C) for 10 minutes, then reduce to 380°F (193°C) and continue baking until golden brown, about 15-20 minutes.
