Meat Twinkies (Stuffed Brats Wrapped in Bacon)
Ingredients
- 16 bratwurst sausages(600g)
- 22 tablespoon Kickin' Cowboy Seasoning (or any seasoning blend)(14g)
- 3200 g mozzarella cheese (block)(200g)
- 46 slice thick-cut bacon(180g)
- 56 toothpicks(6g)
Instructions
- 1Preheat your smoker, grill, oven, or air fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- 2Slice each bratwurst sausage lengthwise, being careful not to cut all the way through, creating a 'boat' shape.
- 3Season the inside and outside of each bratwurst with your preferred seasoning blend.
- 4Cut the block of mozzarella cheese into thick sticks, about the length of the bratwurst.
- 5Stuff each bratwurst with a stick of mozzarella cheese.
- 6Gently press the sausage around the cheese to enclose it as much as possible.
- 7Sprinkle a little more seasoning on top.
- 8Wrap each stuffed bratwurst with a slice of thick-cut bacon.
- 9Secure each with a toothpick to hold the bacon in place.
- 10Place the prepared brats on your smoker, grill, oven, or air fryer.
- 11Cook at 350°F (175°C) for about 30 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the cheese is melted.
- 12Remove toothpicks before serving. Serve as is or in a hot dog bun.
