Korean Cajun Fried Chicken with Hot Honey
Ingredients
- 18 chicken pieces(1200g)
- 21 cup cornmeal(120g)
- 31 cup all-purpose flour(120g)
- 41 teaspoon salt(6g)
- 50.5 teaspoon black pepper(1g)
- 61 tablespoon Cajun seasoning(7g)
- 72 tablespoon soy sauce(30g)
- 82 eggs(100g)
- 91 cup buttermilk(240g)
- 103 cup vegetable oil(690g)
- 110.25 cup honey(85g)
- 122 tablespoon hot sauce(30g)
Instructions
- 1In a large bowl, whisk together buttermilk, eggs, and soy sauce.
- 2Add chicken pieces to the bowl and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
- 3In another bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, black pepper, and Cajun seasoning.
- 4Remove chicken from marinade and dredge each piece in the cornmeal-flour mixture until well coated.
- 5Heat vegetable oil in a deep pan or fryer to 175°C (350°F).
- 6Fry chicken pieces in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 12-15 minutes per batch.
- 7Drain fried chicken on a wire rack or paper towels.
- 8In a small saucepan, combine honey and hot sauce. Warm gently and stir to combine.
- 9Serve fried chicken hot with the spicy honey drizzled on top or on the side.
