- 11 pound lean ground beef(454g)
- 21 medium onion, finely chopped(110g)
- 32 clove garlic, minced(6g)
- 428 ounce crushed tomatoes(794g)
- 51 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning(2g)
- 61 teaspoon salt(6g)
- 70.5 teaspoon black pepper(1g)
- 812 ounce bowtie pasta (farfalle)(340g)
- 91 cup cheddar cheese, shredded(113g)
- 100.5 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded(56g)
- 112 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)(8g)
Instructions
- 1In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
- 2Add chopped onion to the pot. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
- 3Pour in crushed tomatoes. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well. Simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, covered, to meld flavors.
- 4While the sauce simmers, cook bowtie pasta in salted boiling water until al dente.
- 5Drain pasta and add it to the pot with the beef and tomato sauce. Stir gently.
- 6Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top. Cover for 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted and gooey.
- 7Give it one last gentle stir. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve and enjoy.
