Ingredients

  • 11 pound lean ground beef(454g)
  • 21 medium onion, finely chopped(110g)
  • 32 clove garlic, minced(6g)
  • 428 ounce crushed tomatoes(794g)
  • 51 teaspoon dried Italian seasoning(2g)
  • 61 teaspoon salt(6g)
  • 70.5 teaspoon black pepper(1g)
  • 812 ounce bowtie pasta (farfalle)(340g)
  • 91 cup cheddar cheese, shredded(113g)
  • 100.5 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded(56g)
  • 112 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)(8g)

Instructions

  1. 1In a large pot or Dutch oven, brown the ground beef over medium heat. Drain excess fat.
  2. 2Add chopped onion to the pot. Cook until softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in minced garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. 3Pour in crushed tomatoes. Add Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Stir well. Simmer gently for 15-20 minutes, covered, to meld flavors.
  4. 4While the sauce simmers, cook bowtie pasta in salted boiling water until al dente.
  5. 5Drain pasta and add it to the pot with the beef and tomato sauce. Stir gently.
  6. 6Sprinkle cheddar and mozzarella cheese over the top. Cover for 5-7 minutes until cheese is melted and gooey.
  7. 7Give it one last gentle stir. Garnish with fresh parsley if desired. Serve and enjoy.
