Ingredients

  • 13 ripe bananas(350g)
  • 20.5 cup unsalted butter, melted(113g)
  • 32 large eggs(100g)
  • 40.5 cup granulated sugar(105g)
  • 50.5 cup light brown sugar, packed(118g)
  • 62.25 cup all-purpose flour(270g)
  • 70.5 cup sour cream(130g)
  • 80.75 cup chocolate chips(125g)
  • 92 teaspoon vanilla extract(8g)
  • 101 teaspoon baking soda(6g)
  • 110.25 teaspoon salt(1.5g)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C). Grease and line a 9x5-inch loaf pan with parchment paper.
  2. 2In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth with a few chunks remaining.
  3. 3Add melted butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and eggs to the bananas. Mix until smooth.
  4. 4Add sour cream and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  5. 5In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
  6. 6Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined. Do not overmix.
  7. 7Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
  8. 8Pour the batter into the prepared pan. Optionally, sprinkle extra chocolate chips on top.
  9. 9Bake at 425°F (220°C) for 10 minutes. Reduce temperature to 350°F (175°C) and continue baking for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Tent with foil partway through if needed to prevent over-browning.
  10. 10Cool in the pan for 15 minutes, then transfer to a rack to cool completely.
