Hot Chocolate–Soaked Chocolate Cake
Ingredients
- 13 large eggs(150g)
- 21 cup 2% milk(240g)
- 30.75 cup unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled(170g)
- 41 cup granulated sugar(200g)
- 51.5 cup all-purpose flour(180g)
- 60.75 cup unsweetened cocoa powder(65g)
- 71 tablespoon baking powder(12g)
- 81 teaspoon baking soda(5g)
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Butter and line a baking pan.
- 2In a large bowl, whisk eggs, milk, sugar, and melted butter until completely smooth.
- 3Place a fine-mesh sieve over the bowl and sift in flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and baking soda.
- 4Whisk gently until the batter is smooth and lump-free.
- 5Pour batter into the prepared pan and bake for 30–35 minutes, until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.
- 6While the cake is still warm, poke holes evenly across the surface using a skewer or chopstick.
