Caramelized Onion Pasta with Chili Oil
Ingredients
- 12 onion(300g)
- 22 tablespoon olive oil(27g)
- 3250 g pasta(250g)
- 40.5 cup heavy cream(120g)
- 51 tablespoon chili oil(14g)
- 61 teaspoon salt(6g)
- 70.5 teaspoon black pepper(1g)
Instructions
- 1Slice the onions thinly.
- 2Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- 3Add onions and cook slowly, stirring often, until deeply caramelized and golden brown, about 20-30 minutes.
- 4Meanwhile, cook pasta in salted boiling water according to package instructions. Drain and reserve some pasta water.
- 5Add heavy cream to the caramelized onions and stir to combine. Simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- 6Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat. Add reserved pasta water as needed for a silky sauce.
- 7Season with salt and black pepper.
- 8Serve pasta in bowls and top each serving with a spoonful of chili oil.
