Ingredients

  • 12 cup Red beans(400g)
  • 26 cup Water(1420g)
  • 30.5 Onion(60g)
  • 42 Garlic clove(10g)
  • 51 teaspoon Salt(6g)
  • 62 tablespoon Vegetable oil(28g)

Instructions

  1. 1Rinse the red beans and place them in a large pot with water.
  2. 2Add the onion and garlic cloves to the pot.
  3. 3Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and simmer until beans are tender, about 1.5 to 2 hours.
  4. 4Remove the onion and garlic. Drain the beans, reserving some of the cooking liquid.
  5. 5Blend the beans with a portion of the reserved liquid until smooth.
  6. 6Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium heat.
  7. 7Pour the blended beans into the skillet, add salt, and cook, stirring frequently, until thickened to desired consistency.
  8. 8Serve hot as a side dish or with tortillas.
