- 21 tablespoon olive oil(13.5g)
- 3450 g ground beef or Italian sausage(450g)
- 41 small onion(70g)
- 52 clove garlic(6g)
- 63 cup marinara sauce(720g)
- 71 teaspoon salt(6g)
- 80.5 teaspoon black pepper(1g)
- 91 teaspoon Italian seasoning(2g)
- 101.5 cup ricotta cheese(360g)
- 112.5 cup shredded mozzarella cheese(250g)
- 120.5 cup Parmesan cheese(50g)
- 131 egg(50g)
- 141 tablespoon fresh parsley or basil(4g)
- 150.25 cup extra Parmesan cheese (optional)(25g)
Instructions
- 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2Boil jumbo pasta shells in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 3Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onion and sauté until soft.
- 4Add minced garlic and ground beef or sausage; cook until browned.
- 5Stir in marinara sauce, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
- 6In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese, 1 cup shredded mozzarella, Parmesan cheese, egg, and chopped parsley or basil until smooth.
- 7Spread a thin layer of meat sauce in a baking dish.
- 8Stuff each shell with the cheese mixture and arrange in the baking dish.
- 9Spoon remaining meat sauce over the stuffed shells.
- 10Top with 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella and extra Parmesan if desired.
- 11Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- 12Uncover and bake for an additional 10–15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
- 13Let rest 5 minutes before serving.
